The Sudbury Community Food Pantry is thrilled to announce its first ever Youth Service Awards. For 2024, we are recognizing several youths and youth service organizations in town who have committed themselves to helping others through their great work at the Pantry.
With the help of their grandmother, Janet Cappetta, Lucy and Sadie Cooperman have provided holiday treat bags for our families for all the major holidays throughout the year. Our clients’ eyes light up and they are extremely touched to know that someone thought of them at these special times of the year. Lucy and Sadie have also asked for donations to the Pantry in lieu of birthday and holiday gifts. Their care for those in need is inspiring.
Led by Ivar Henningson, the Curtis Angels is a community service oriented club at Curtis Middle School. In 2024 they led a very successful food drive and donation collection which is an incredible help in our mission to assist those in our community who are experiencing food insecurity. We are so thankful for everything they do to make our community a better place.
The LS Food Pantry Club meets bi-weekly and is dedicated to assisting the Pantry and our families. They take care of many tasks for us including making double bags for food to be packed into and distributed, bake sales to raise money, and much more. We are grateful for everything they do to keep the Pantry operating smoothly. Co-Presidents Claire Mabli, Eva Gilbert, and Madi Sampson accepted the award on behalf of the club.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all the youth who dedicate their time and energy to help the Sudbury Community Food Pantry. Your commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others not only helps strengthen our community, but it also sets a powerful example of compassion, responsibility, and leadership. Thank you for your hard work and your kindness. Your efforts are truly appreciated, and we are proud of all that you do. Keep up the amazing work!
