Thanks to Rachel Nelson for using social media to organize a fundraiser for the purchase of new children’s books for Pantry clients; and, thanks to all who contributed towards the purchase of books.

During this pandemic, the SCFP has witnessed substantial community support. Neighbors have volunteered their time. The Chinese-American Association of Sudbury provided needed cleaning supplies in March and organized multiple large food donations for the Pantry thereafter. In addition, all four Sudbury elementary schools organized independent food drives delivering the food during the week ending April 17th. And, The First Baptist Church of Sudbury, the Presbyterian Church, St. John’s Lutheran’s Church, St. Vincent’s Conference at St Anselm’s as well as St. Vincent’s Conference at Our Lady of Fatima each organized successful food drives, most of which food was delivered to the SCFP on Friday April 24th.
And on May 1st, the Memorial Congregational Church of Sudbury (MCC) delivered yet another well-rounded and substantial load of filled banana boxes of donated food and personal products, which all together (with the other donations and what we are able to obtain through Greater Boston Food bank) will help keep our shelves filled for several weeks. Thank you community!!
Many thanks to the wonderful Sudbury community for all of the support that you have shown us over the past few weeks. You’ve provided financial donations and organized community wide food drives aiming to keep our shelves full. Additional gratitude and appreciation is noted for those willing to donate their time to actively volunteer at our organization during this “health crisis”. It takes our village to serve, for example, 103 clients just this past week. And it took quite a few teachers donating their time to keep us operating. We’re in this fight together to help each other and to try to do so safely and respectfully.
